Doing the WORK!

The real BTS stuff, the overwhelm and why playing the long game matters.

It's been nearly a month since my last newsletter, which I normally do weekly.

Why? Because I am knee deep in the WORK of operating a growing business.

What that means in real terms is... focusing on sales and loving up my current customers.

I had to bench a few things as we rolled out our new "Talent Toolkit" product to our talent agency artists and service 7 studio photoshoots this month.

We also welcomed 3 new studios into our Studio Talent Collective (talent agency) family. So being busy is an understatement.

If I am being completely honest, I started to have a freak out last week. I phoned a friend nearly in tears saying;

"this is everything I wanted and worked for. Yet... I feel overwhelmed. Is it too much?"

My conclusion? Hell no! But I need to give myself grace and accept that this business journey is hard sometimes. Growth is hard as are the slumps. Every step. Every pain point brings a new challenge. All stages are HARD. 

But I can do hard things and so can you!

So in honour of THE WORK, I pulled back on my social media to focus on sales.

I scaled back my newsletter frequency to service my current customers.

I called in extra help from my assistant Cayla, because you have to accept when you cant do everything on your own. Imperfection is better than not done!

I also decided to bring back some of my most downloaded podcast episodes from the last 2 years, because I didn't have time to record new ones. PLUS they are awesome! 

But you know what?

I love that I have set up my business to be able to step back in certain areas and still see results. It was not an accident this "blow up" happened. It was strategy and playing the long game. 

Because there is no such thing as an overnight success.
