When Work Takes Over

A personal reflection on growth, capacity and why I'm pressing pause on the podcast - at least for now.

After four and a half years and 239 episodes, I’ve made the decision to press pause on the podcast… at least for now.

And honestly? It’s not because things aren’t working.

It’s because they are.

The last few months inside Studio Talent Collective have been the busiest and biggest we’ve ever had. We’ve welcomed new studio partners, launched our Talent Toolkit product, supported more talent bookings, run photoshoots across multiple states and hosted Studio Biz Summit.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I realised something:

What got me here won’t get me there.

When I first started this podcast back in 2021, Studio Talent Collective didn’t even exist yet. The podcast was the first thing I built. At the time, it was all about creating a voice, building connection and growing a personal brand.

But businesses evolve.

And right now, I need to be fully in the work.

Truthfully? I just don’t have the capacity for everything anymore.

I’ve reached a point where I need to be intentional about where my time and energy goes. Not because I don’t love the podcast. I really do. But because growth sometimes requires refining instead of adding more.

A few months ago, I was genuinely questioning everything. I even applied for a job because I wasn’t sure the business was moving fast enough.

Then suddenly… the strategy compounded.

The relationships compounded.
The consistency compounded.

And things shifted.

Now I finally feel like I’ve arrived in the season I was working towards all along.

Not the final destination, but definitely a new chapter.

I also loved being in the room with my studio clients and their students this year. Making effort to be at events and connecting with community where I can. Below I'm at 'House of Dance' in Hobart, running audition technique workshops.

 So while the podcast is pausing, this isn’t goodbye forever. The full library of episodes will still be here waiting for you, and maybe one day we’ll return for Episode 240!

But for now, I just want to say thank you.
