Let’s Talk: Studio Talent Collective Blog

👯‍♀️ Two business brains are better than one

Ideas flowed and plans came together. 2027 suddenly feels a whole lot clearer. Imagining what's possible with a clear pathway ahead!

Last weekend, I joined my ride-or-die bestie Simone, in Port Macquarie NSW, for our annual planning day.

Turns out, it was more of an annual planning weekend/getaway and honestly, it was one of the most productive and enjoyable things we’ve done for our businesses.

We spent Saturday properly deep-diving into 2027. Not just setting vague goals and hoping for the best, but mapping out specific campaigns, key events, marketing plans, timelines, growth targets and the people we most want to reach and impact.

We even made sure we scheduled in time off, because as working mums with young kids, we know that building a business we love, also needs to leave room for a life we love.

We created a framework. Here’s how we structured it:

  1. Reflection: What worked, what didn’t and what we learned from the year that was.

  2. Goal setting: Getting clear on what we want to achieve in 2027.

  3. Annual project planner: Mapping out key dates, campaigns and events across the year.

  4. Inspiration: Revisiting notes and ideas we’ve collected over time.

  5. Marketing brainstorm: Sharing ideas, challenging each other and giving feedback across our different businesses.

  6. The HOW and WHO: Deciding how we’ll execute our plans, what needs to happen and who will be responsible, including any team and staffing considerations.

  7. Year-on-year growth: Comparing our financial year results with the previous year and looking at what the numbers tell us.

  8. Closing reflections: Wrapping up with questions to help us take what we’ve discussed and move forward with clarity.

And yes, we had a LOT of fun.

We’re both big Off Campus fans, so naturally, the Garrett Graham and Dean Di-Laurentis T-shirts made an appearance.

There were Pina Coladas by the water (Hannah-approved, obviously), wine, dinner, a movie, morning swims and spa time. We managed to fit in the serious business planning and the fun stuff. Turns out, you can do both. 🍹

The biggest takeaway? Planning ahead gives you options. Because now, instead of scrambling to pull everything together in January, I can start preparing for the opportunities that matter and that I want to roll out in the first quarter of 2027. And that head start is gold.

It’s also why I’m talking about planning now, because if you’re a performing arts studio owner considering adding a Talent Agency to your business in 2027, this is the time to explore what that could look like.

Could a Talent Agency be part of your 2027 plan?

At the end of this month, I am running a completely free Talent Agency Information Session for studio owners who are curious about having talent representation within their business.

Whether you’re seriously considering it or simply want to understand what’s involved, you’re welcome to join me on Zoom.

I’ll show you behind the scenes of Studio Talent Collective, including how our plug-in agency model works, what’s involved, how it can create an additional revenue stream and how it can support student retention heading into the new year.

We’ve already built the infrastructure, systems and support - so you don’t have to start from scratch.

Come along, ask your questions and see whether it could be a fit for your studio.

Let’s get you planning ahead, too.
