๐ช๏ธ Back in the Room: Term 1 Lessons for Studio Owners ๐ญ

Let’s Talk: Studio Talent Collective Blog
Back in the Room & the Term 1 Cyclone
Anyone else feel like they came back from holidays and walked straight into a cyclone? Because… same.
Let’s just pause for a moment and acknowledge that the last month was BIG.
And just as I was being launched back into full “work mode”… my body had other plans, gifting me a lovely virus. Honestly, sometimes I think it’s the universe (or our immune system) waving a little flag saying, “Hey… remember holidays? Maybe slow down for a second.”
Here’s what’s been happening behind the scenes.

๐ญ Back In The Room (and Loving Every Second)
Recently I travelled from Sydney to Canberra to run my Audition Stars Workshop at one of our client studios - working with both junior and senior students on screen audition technique and musical mock auditions (hello Annie and Legally Blonde… OMIGOD you guys ๐ ).
It was SO much fun.
Also… I was recovering from a virus while driving 7.5 hours round trip in one day. Huge. Slightly unhinged. Absolutely worth it.
Here’s what surprised me the most…
I sold my studio over 18 months ago, and while I’ve been deep in coaching, mentoring and industry work with studio owners and talent agencies, I haven’t stepped back into the classroom with kids since.
And wow… it was like riding a bike.
There is something truly magic about being in a room helping young performers build confidence, understand audition spaces, and step into their voice. It reminded me WHY this industry matters so much. Not just for careers, but for leadership, confidence and life skills.
And honestly… it ties perfectly into the bigger vision of what we’re building at Studio Talent Collective.
๐ Studio Talent Collective Growth & Wins
Last month alone we saw:
โจ 120 auditions submitted across Australia through our studio partners
โจ 7 performers booked across TV commercials, short film and theatre
โจ A brand new studio partner welcomed into Studio Talent Collective
โจ Our agency network now represents 540 talented performers
I’m incredibly proud of the ecosystem we’re building — not just creating opportunity, but supporting education so performers can become well-rounded, industry-ready artists.
Whether students pursue the arts professionally or carry those skills into life, confidence and creative leadership matter.

๐ฌ The Greenroom Is Officially Open
Another milestone was launching The Greenroom - a social club and connection space for studio owners and performing arts industry leaders.
And already… it’s feeling special.
Real conversations. Real support. Real community.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing business alone, The Greenroom was built to change that.

๐ง Fill Your Classes in 2026 (and Drop the BS)
All of this momentum and reflection inspired my latest episode of Studio Talent Collective ~ the podcast:
Episode #230: Fill Your Classes in 2026 (and Drop the BS)
I recorded this episode off-schedule early one Sunday morning - slightly husky-voiced and highly inspired because I kept thinking about how much has changed in just 12 months in our industry… and how many studio owners are still being taught outdated strategies.
Inside the episode, I unpack:
โ๏ธ Why automation should support connection — not replace it
โ๏ธ Why social media is now discovery… not conversion
โ๏ธ The power of personal follow-up and real sales strategy
โ๏ธ Why creativity and long-term campaign thinking matters more than ever
โ๏ธ Simple planning strategies that actually move enrolment numbers
If enrolment season feels loud, overwhelming or confusing right now, this episode will bring you back to what actually works.
